Uptown Swanton is a vibrant business district that is home to 50 local businesses.  Recently these businesses formed an Uptown Swanton Association (see Blade article - January 24, 2008) that has three areas of focus:  Advertising - Aesthetics - Awareness.

The Uptowns District is roughly defined as Main Street north of Airport Highway to the I-80/90 overpass and includes businesses that are just off of Main Street on Broadway, Dodge and Church Streets, etc.

This area includes two beauty shops, two barber shops, three insurance companies, two dental offices, two law offices, a chiropractic office, one bank, a karate and pilates center, a fitness center, a youth center, a beverage center, two specialty spirit wear shops, two photography studios, a dog grooming center, three restaurants, two flower shops, a car repair shop, two computer shops, and more.  A complete list follows:
