BECOME A CHAMBER AMBASSADOR
The Swanton Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to join our Chamber Ambassadors volunteer program. As a Chamber Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Membership Committee by acting as a liaison between Chamber members and staff. Your primary responsibilities will include gathering feedback and ideas regarding Chamber programs, helping new members understand Chamber functions and operations, and actively promoting Chamber events and programs.
Volunteers are recognized for their dedication and commitment through the "Ambassador of the Year Award," presented to the individual who earns the most points for their participation throughout the year.
Ambassadors are expected to attend the Membership Committee monthly meetings, held on the third Wednesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Chamber office. Additionally, they receive updates via email about grand openings and ribbon-cutting celebrations, attend these events to support new businesses, and may volunteer to hold the ribbon during ceremonies. Chamber events also rely heavily on Ambassadors for various volunteer positions, providing a great opportunity to meet other Chamber members and engage with the community.
With only one staff member working 20 hours a week, volunteer support is essential to ensure the success of Chamber and community events. By volunteering, you will have the opportunity to make valuable contacts with business leaders throughout Swanton, gain recognition at Chamber events and in publications, and be acknowledged among peers as a community leader. Additionally, you will learn about the growth and development of Swanton, gain personal satisfaction, and meet new people, making meaningful connections.
Ambassadors are expected to make every effort to attend functions, meetings, and activities. They will assist in recruiting new members by explaining member benefits, promoting Chamber activities, and passing referrals to the Chamber staff. Ambassadors also play a crucial role in retaining current members and encouraging involvement in Chamber committees and events. It is essential for Ambassadors to act well-behaved in person and online, representing the Chamber positively. The term of an Ambassador is one calendar year.
